Abstract
Translating evidence-based treatments into real world clinical practice requires the application of creativity, clinical skills, and interpersonal engagement. This involves being attuned to our patients, colleagues, and mentors as sources of inspiration while continually nurturing oneself throughout the career life span. The author, the 2014 recipient of the Division 54 Carolyn S. Schroeder Award for Clinical Practice, provides suggestions for and examples of engaging creativity and innovation in the service of providing evidence-based interventions with patients and families.
