Abstract
This paper describes interventions to reduce call bell response time and concomitantly substantially increase patient satisfaction. Examination of the relationship between actual and perceived call bell response and patient satisfaction is explored, highlighting the complexity of this relationship. Given the highly accountable nature of patient satisfaction as measured through the Hospital Report Series and the importance of prompt call bell response to patients, call bell response is an excellent opportunity for hospitals to explore.
