198 hand tumours were found among 7,552 new cases seen within a period of four years.
The diagnostic problems are discussed, and the treatment of the different types of tumour described.
The ganglia were specially followed-up for 1–4 years in order to detect the rate of early recurrence. This is found to occur in 8% of cases.
Careful planning and adequate local excision were emphasised.
