Closed rupture of the extensor pollicis longus tendon is most often seen following lower radial fractures, but is uncommon in the absence of fracture. Redden has recently described rupture following rotational injury of the forearm.
I wish to record three cases of closed delayed rupture following direct injury to the area of the tendon.
