Abstract
The clinical test described contributes to elucidation of the role played by the biceps muscle in restricting elbow extension, and of the nature of its shortening as well. Spasm of the biceps can be subjected with a good prospect of success to physical therapy: ultrasonics, cryotherapy or hydrotherapy combined with remedial exercises using the relaxation techniques of proprioceptive facilitation.
In contracture of the biceps muscle, operative management may be required.
